Hurricane Irma and Key West
Hurricane Irma is gone finally!!! My office building is still not open yet, but hopefully it will be opened soon. Thank you in advance for your patience.
As with most people, we had a LOT of time on our hands prior to Hurricane Irma. This is all we have been hearing about on the news. My building was shut down on Thursday around noon and we had our house shuttered up on Wednesday.
A friend/colleague of mine suggested for us to go to the live webcam of the Southernmost Point Cam in Key West. This is a landmark for any person that visits Key West. I was astonished to see that just hours before Hurricane Irma was going to reach landfall near Key West that people were CRAZY enough to be out there. No One Plans to Fail, but these People Definitely Failed to Plan. I pray and hope that they survived the storm, but I am not too optimistic about this. This is a picture of what that landmark looks like today.
I am politically independent, but Governor Rick Scott did a great job with warning Floridians of this storm. He made it mandatory to evacuate the Keys. Wishing you all a speedy clean up and getting back to normalcy.
